The First Year Scorecard: A Note from our Golf Division

In the first 12 months of launching LMG’s golf business, we’ve seen incredible

opportunities to make a substantial impact in the lives and careers of South African

professional golfers competing on the global stage.

This past August was a truly special milestone for us, as Michael Hollick and Herman

Loubser both claimed exceptional victories — marking LMG’s first client wins since

our launch. These achievements represent far more than trophies; they are a

testament to the players’ dedication, resilience, and relentless hard work, combined

with the support structures and systems we’ve been building around them at LMG. It

was a proud moment that reflects not only their individual journeys but also the

shared vision we’re creating together.

Golf is a uniquely challenging sport. Unlike other disciplines, such as tennis, even

the best players in the world don’t win often. That’s what makes every victory so

special and why we take the time to celebrate these achievements and recognise the

extraordinary effort it takes to reach the top. With their current form, both Michael

and Herman are in a fantastic position heading into the summer season, and I’m

excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for them.

Looking ahead, one of the highlights on the calendar will be seeing four of our

players — Michael, Herman, Rupert Kaminski and Nikhil Rama — compete in this

year’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews this October. Playing at the

home of golf, alongside some of the world’s very best, will be a remarkable

experience and an invaluable opportunity for them to test themselves on one of the

sport’s biggest stages.

Although we’re still in the early stages of our journey, the growth of our player

management division has been incredibly rewarding. In a very short time, we’ve

helped players achieve meaningful progress through strong performances on the

course and by building exciting partnerships with leading South African and

international brands for our players.

We’ve also been proud to introduce new corporate partners to the golf space,

creating opportunities for them to make meaningful investments, gain powerful

exposure, and tap into the benefits of South Africa’s rapidly expanding golf industry,

which continues to grow in both reach and influence.

Our ultimate vision is clear: to help our players compete, grow, and thrive on the

world stage. For some, this means guiding their progression onto the world’s top

international tours — such as the DP World Tour, Asian Tour, and PGA Tour. For

others, it involves developing their skills and competitive edge through platforms like

the Hotelplanner Tour and Sunshine Tour, preparing them for the step up to elite-level competition. At

the same time, we are committed to providing world-class support for those already

competing at the highest level, ensuring they have the structure, resources, and

backing needed to succeed.

We’ve already been part of some truly exciting success stories. Seeing Michael

Hollick earn his place on the DP World Tour for 2026, and Kyle Barker and Nikhil

Rama secure membership on the Hotelplanner Tour for next season, has been

incredibly rewarding. These achievements represent golden opportunities — not only

for these individuals but also for others in our team, who will be looking to secure full

playing rights through strong performances in the Sunshine Tour’s upcoming

summer swing.

While these opportunities are thrilling, they also come with responsibility. Success at

the highest-level demands readiness and preparation. That’s why we place such a

strong focus on structured development and planning, ensuring our players aren’t

just earning spots but are fully prepared to perform and excel when the moment

arrives.

As I reflect on this first chapter of our journey, I see it as climbing a mountain. We’ve

reached the base, taken time to acclimatise, and carefully mapped out our route

upward. The peak is still far ahead, with challenges and opportunities waiting along

the way. But that’s what excites me most — because with the right vision, strategy,

and determination, every step of the climb is just as meaningful and rewarding as

reaching the summit.
